San Francisco International Airport is located approximately 13 miles south of San Francisco, near the junction of Highways 101 and 380.
For current traffic information, please call 511 from within the San Francisco Bay Area [(510) 817-1717 from outside the San Francisco Bay Area], or visit www.511.org. |
SFO suggests that you check with your airline directly for the latest recommended arrival times. For domestic flights, most airlines suggest arriving 1 to 2 hours before departure. For international flights, most airlines recommend arriving 2 to 3 hours before departure. |
Domestic arrivals can be met in the baggage claim area on the Arrivals/Baggage Claim Level of the Domestic Terminals.
International arrivals can be met at the U.S. Customs exit in the Arrivals Lobby, International Terminal.
Vehicles are allowed curbside, as long as they are in designated areas, and are actively loading or unloading. Vehicles are never allowed to wait at the curb and are required to circle the terminal or park in hourly parking while waiting for an arriving party. Close and convenient parking is available for $1 per 12 minutes in both the Domestic and International Garages. |
For items lost in the terminals or on AirTrain, the Lost and Found is located on the Arrivals/ Baggage Claim Level of Domestic Terminal 1, near Baggage Carousel 17. Managed by the San Francisco Police Department, the Lost and Found is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Phone (650) 821-7014 or e-mail SFOLostandFound@flysfo.com.
If you have lost an item on an aircraft, please contact the airline directly. |
California State Law prohibits smoking inside all public buildings, and within 20 feet of any main exit, entrance, or operable window of a public building. Smoking is permitted outdoors in designated smoking areas only. Please observe all smoking restrictions. |
Procedures regarding both unaccompanied minors and elderly adults vary by airline. SFO recommends that you ask your airline about its policy before heading to the airport. |
